Tai chi massage

Early this morning I had to visit the Tai Chi massage shop in Bendigo Marketplace to get myself a massage for sciatica in the legs. I was actually finding it hard to walk as I must have pulled a few muscles in my legs recently. The massage lasted about 40 minutes and cost $60.00. I must say that that was the best $60.00 I ever spent as it freed me up completely. It now much easier to get around.

James Bond movie - No time to die

I saw the latest James Bond movie today. it is titled "No time to die". It wasn't bad, typical James Bond stuff. At the end of the movie, James Bond gets killed off, so we wont see Daniel Craig again! I wonder who will be the next James Bond?

2021 AFL Grand Final

Saturday was the day of the 2021 AFL grand final. It was won by Melbourne who beat the Western Bulldogs by 140-76. It was a pretty good game generally and Melbourne broke a drought going back to 1964. Well done Melbourne.

End of the road for Uniting Care at Forest st

Today, we had a video conference with certain people who are in charge of Uniting Care for Victoria and Tasmania. It was officially confirmed that the Forest St office of Uniting Care will be closed down as of the 20th of August. Thus is a sad blow to those of us who work there. It means the end of the road for me and my involvement with Uniting Care. I have been there since 2008. All a bit sad i think.

I finish up at Bendigo Uniting

Today was my last day with Uniting Bendigo. The head office in Melbourne have, for whatever reason decided to close down the outreach in Forest st and transfer all the services to the Kangaroo Flat Uniting Church offices. Most of the people there are upset about it, but it is what it is and we cannot do anything about it. I have been there for 14 years aand it is sad to see these offices close, but we must now all move on. Thank you for fourteen great and wonderful years. Cheers and best wishes to everybody.

A new Optus Modem

My new modem from Optus arrived today. It looks pretty cool and works really well. It took me a while to get it up and running, but once it was running, it works a whole lot better than the old modem. Cool.

Today, I discovered that sadly, Michaels Camera House in Melbourne is closing it's doors. It's business has been badly affected by COVID-19 and thay have decided to continue as an online business only. I often went down there for seminars and some training and to get new info on new products. I feel that they will be missed.

End of year holiday in Brisbane - visiting with the family

This year I managed to get to Brisbane to have Christmas with certain family members who are living in Brisbane or on the GoldCoast. I flew to Brisbane on the 23rd December with Virgin Australia.
We had Christmas day at my brother Bill's house. It was good fun catching up with some of the family. Sadly, not everybody could get there. I also spent some time at my brother John's house. I spent a lot of time watching cricket on TV or watching movies or visiting with other relatives. Generally, it was a good time to just chill out, by shopping or just walking around Brisbane and trying out my new camera.
I flew back to Melbourne on the 3rd of January. Sadly, the flight was delayed by an hour and one half due to a problem with the baggage. But we made it back to Melbourne OK. It is good to see Virgin Australia flying once more and thankfully we did not have any Corona Virus issues.
