My 66th birthday today.

Today, i celebrated my 66th birthday. I was at work and got a cake and a present as well as phone calls wishing me a happy birthday. Overall it was a quiet birthday, but at my age, that is OK.

Star Wars: The rise of Skywalker

Yesterday, I finally got to see the latest Star Wars movie: The Rise of Skywalker. It was the last of nine Star Wars movies, although I think there will be a few others sooner or later. Generally, I thought it was a pretty good movie. Very entertaining and well worth seeing.

Christmas 2019

Today was Christmas day 2019. Unfortunately, I had to stay in Bendigo as I could not afford to go anywhere this Christmas. I have had a tough year financially and just could not afford to go anywhere. For lunch, I attended a Community lunch at lake Weeroona in Bendigo. It was a nice meal even though i hardly knew anybody there. It was generally an OK day though.

I finally get my car back on the road

Today, i finally got my car back on the road. About a month ago, the police pulled me over and fined me because my car was unregistered. I thought I had paid my registration online but the payment did not go through. In order to get the car registered again, I had to get a roadworthy on it but unfortunately the car did not pass the roadworthy and so I needed to get some repairs done. After fixing that all up, I finally got the car re-registered today with new number plates. So I am now legally back on the road with a car that runs a whole lot better. Good stuff.

Ford vs Ferrari

This evening my church held a film and social night at the local cinema. We saw the movie "Ford vs Ferrari". It tells of the rivalry between Ford and Ferrari in the Le Mans race in the late 1960's. It starred Christian Bale and Matt Damon. It was a very good movie, well worth seeing...

Another visit to Michael's Camera House in Melbourne

Today was a public holiday in Bendigo. It is Bendigo Cup day. Apparently everybody is supposed to take the day off and go to the horse races. Instead of attending the races, (which I never do), I chose to travel down to Melbourne to attend a presentation at Michael's Camera House In Melbourne.

The presentation was about some new cameras from Fujifilm. It was presented by Warwick Williams who is a professional photographer and I also take it that he is a salesman for Fujifilm.

He presented a variety of cameras that I had not seen before, most notably the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and the X-A7.

The X-Pro3 is a professional level camera and the X-A7 is more for travel bloggers. If I get to travel any time soon. i think that I might look at obtaining the X-A7 as my vlogging camera. It looks like it is easy to use as well as being pretty useful.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the presentation and that it was well worth the trip down and back. Well done to Michael's Camera House and to Fujifilm.

Shot expo 2019

Today, i attended the Shot Expo show that was held at The Melbourne Showgrounds. This is a show where people in involved in the firearms and hunting industry show off their wears. This included rifles, knives, optics, camping and cooking gear etc. It was interesting as there were a lot of different exhibitors there. For me, the highlight was an Australian rifle company named Warwick firearms. They have some cool new rifles on display. It was well worth a visit.
