Another visit to Michael's Camera House in Melbourne

Today was a public holiday in Bendigo. It is Bendigo Cup day. Apparently everybody is supposed to take the day off and go to the horse races. Instead of attending the races, (which I never do), I chose to travel down to Melbourne to attend a presentation at Michael's Camera House In Melbourne.

The presentation was about some new cameras from Fujifilm. It was presented by Warwick Williams who is a professional photographer and I also take it that he is a salesman for Fujifilm.

He presented a variety of cameras that I had not seen before, most notably the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and the X-A7.

The X-Pro3 is a professional level camera and the X-A7 is more for travel bloggers. If I get to travel any time soon. i think that I might look at obtaining the X-A7 as my vlogging camera. It looks like it is easy to use as well as being pretty useful.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the presentation and that it was well worth the trip down and back. Well done to Michael's Camera House and to Fujifilm.

Shot expo 2019

Today, i attended the Shot Expo show that was held at The Melbourne Showgrounds. This is a show where people in involved in the firearms and hunting industry show off their wears. This included rifles, knives, optics, camping and cooking gear etc. It was interesting as there were a lot of different exhibitors there. For me, the highlight was an Australian rifle company named Warwick firearms. They have some cool new rifles on display. It was well worth a visit.

2019 AFL Grand Final

Today was the day of the 2019 AFL (Australian Football League) Grand Final. It features the Richmond Tigers vs Greater Western Sydney Giants (GWS). The Giants were playing in their first grand final, having only joined the competition 8 years ago. Richmond were going for their 12th grand final win. The game was bit one sided. Richmond won 114 to 25. it was the lowest losing score since 1960 and the third biggest margin in grand final history. Richmond fans were ecstatic (as usual). I am sure the Giants will win a grand final one of these days.

Tesla surprise

Last Sunday night, I drove to my local supermarket to get a few supplies. When I pulled into the car park i got a pleasant surprise. Six Tesla superchargers are being installed in the Supermarket car park!
I had to take a photo or two. I expect that we will see more Tesla cars in Bendigo soon. I am sure that I will own one myself one of these days.

Another hospital stay

Unfortunately, i have had to go back to hospital once again. I was in hospital from last Friday the 24th of May to Thursday the 30th of May. The problem was another bowl obstruction. This was the same thing that put me in hospital two years ago. Fortunately, this time the doctors did not have to operate. They kept me on a drip for a while and that seemed to clear the problem. So no operation was necessary. Lets hope that I don't have to go back anytime soon.

Eurovision and Australian Federal election weekend

Two important events happened this weekend. The Federal Election Firstly, we had a federal election on Saturday 18th of March. I am pleased to say that the Coalition Government, lead by Prime Minister Scott Morrison was returned. I am pleased about that because I quite like our Prime Minister and I really did not want to see another Labor Party Government in power. The Labor party rarely does a good job of governing federally.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest This year the Eurovision Song Contest was staged in Israel. They dis a fantastic job. I must say, Eurovison rarely disappoints and this one was no exception. The show was won by a Dutch guy who sang a song called "Arcade". The vote was a cliffhanger which was great. Our girl from Australia placed seventh.

Michaels Camera House Melbourne - Panasonic Lumix Display

Today, I ventured down to Michael's Camera House ín Melbourne. There was a display of the new Panasonic Lumix S1 and S1r cameras. These are professional level full frame sensor cameras and I got to experience how to use them. There were so many dials and nobs and settings that it was a bit confusing at first. But we went out onto the street and did a photo shoot with a professional model and it was a fantastic experience. My next camera might just be a Panasonic.

Yet another hospital visit

I had to go back to hospital again this morning. I needed to get an another angiogram and possibly a stent put in. However, the doctor decid...
